It's crazy to think that this is the second article today that I have read in relation to Pokemon....Welcome to 2016 I guess.
The craze and growth of the game is something never seen (It has just overtaken Facebook with a 33 minute average daily use), will it have staying power...Who knows. This article is however interesting and gives a different spin on the AR capabilities of the game.
If you have never played the game let me just you know...Bars, Restaurants, retail stores any landmarks really are virtually turned into POI which any player in the close proximity can reap rewards from. They can be anywhere and the beauty is you have to be in the area to gain the benefits.
This could be a great USP for certain shops and help generate footfall....Will the % offers disappear and lead to Pokemon evenings to drive sales.
Business owners felt the impact of the game immediately. Because the game uses GPS technology, players looking to take advantage of what are known as “Pokéstops” and “Poké Gyms” must actually go to those places, often at a business or in highly trafficked areas. Some businesses have already had enough and have resorted to reserving Pokémon for paying customers only.
