I go and meet several people across London daily and there seems to be a competition on who has the most hipster office, if the roof isn't exposed then its not 2016 proof i'm afraid.
The buildings we (and yes I'm a Millennial) just need to work, the idea that I can order anything I want to be delivered from my phone in 30 minutes but from some offices can't even print something shows an issue.
We all know the success of Wework and what they have shown us is how to master "Creative space utilization + branding"....Have you ever been to a we work it's just a nice place to go.
We want our workplaces to be places that we actually want to be at and enjoy while we work hard. The 9-5 is dead, we have become the office.
Millennials never quit. The 9-5 became the 8-6 became the 24/7 as the work day adapted to globalization and technology. Early birds are in from 7am-6pm, night owls are in from 11am-10pm, we don’t bat an eye at 3am emails. Your cell phone is an extension of your arm and now talks to your car, computer, 1Password, and dating life. Work-life balance is no longer about keeping it even, but a seamless integration between the two. In response to this 24/7 life, workspaces are beginning to look like living environments.
